Dr. Yaariv Khaykin graduated from medical school in Toronto in 1996 and completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology training in Toronto. From 2002-2004 he trained in electrophysiology at the Cleveland Clinic.
In 2004 Dr. Khaykin returned to Southlake Regional Health Centre to start the Atrial Fibrillation and Complex Ablation program, which has proven to be one of the most successful in the country. His clinical expertise includes complex ablation procedures, left atrial appendage occlusion, CIED implantation, including leadless, conduction system pacing and CRT devices, and laser lead extraction.
Recognized throughout North America as an expert in his field, Dr. Khaykin has a number of publications in leading journals with research interests involving multicentre controlled trials comparing methods of AF and VT ablation, 3D and ultrasound guidance of ablation, novel antiarrhythmic agents, and health economics. Dr. Khaykin directs PACE Cardiology (pace-cardiology.com) and is the Chief Medical Information Officer at Southlake Regional Health Centre. His latest interest involves textile computing, its applications to long-term remote patient monitoring, and the development of clinical prediction algorithms based on real-time multimodal biometric data.
