Interventional Cardiologist

Dr Sumaya is an Interventional Cardiologist at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He joined the team in 2020 having completed fellowship training at Western University and in the United Kingdom at Sheffield University. He spends majority of his time treating patients with coronary artery disease. He is also part of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Group and leads the ASD/PFO closure program. He is interested in clinical research and has completed a PhD at Sheffield University studying thrombotic risk in patients with coronary artery disease.
