Dr Omid Salehian is an Associate Professor at McMaster University and a member of Division of Cardiology at Hamilton Health Sciences. He is the Director of Echocardiography Laboratories and Medical Diagnostic Units across the 4 hospitals of the Hamilton Health Sciences. He is also the Program Director for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Accredited (Area of Focused Competence) Advanced Echocardiography Fellowship at McMaster University. He has had fellowship training in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (University of Toronto), and Advanced Echocardiography (University of Ottawa Heart Institute). He is actively involved in residency education and serves on multiple committees for both cardiology residency and echocardiography fellowship training. He has won numerous teaching awards including Ernest Fallen award for teaching excellence in Cardiology which he has been awarded 3 times. He has published 90 peer reviewed manuscripts and abstracts as well as authored 16 book chapters. He is also actively involved in peer review process and reviews manuscripts for American Journal of Cardiology, Canadian Journal of Cardiology, Journal of American Society of Echocardiography, Congenital Heart Disease, Chest, and Heart. He has also been serving as an abstract reviewer for the Annual Scientific Sessions for Canadian Cardiovascular Society since 2005.
