Vishnu Vasanthan is a PGY-8 resident in the Cardiac Surgery and Clinician Investigator Programs at the University of Calgary. He is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Calgary supervised by Dr. Paul W.M. Fedak.
Vishnu’s Ph.D. thesis focuses on unique immunomodulatory properties of acellular extracellular biomaterials, and how they can be leveraged to enhance heart healing after myocardial infarction (https://www.jacc.org/doi/abs/10.1016/j.jacbts.2023.01.012). He has a clinical research interest in patient-reported outcomes and investigating novel modalities to enhance recovery after cardiac surgery (https://www.jtcvs.org/article/S0022-5223(22)00999-0/abstract). His clinical interests include minimally invasive cardiac surgical approaches and valvular surgery.
