Dr. Samuel Petrie is a current CIHR Health System Impact Fellow working at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Petrie’s research interests include implementation science, virtual care, and the integration of virtual care in rural and remote health systems. His current project includes the implementation of Medly, a digital therapeutic for the remote management of heart failure, in northern Ontario, in partnership with Indigenous communities. Dr. Petrie’s research is primarily qualitative, with an emphasis of understanding abstract concepts and their impact on implementation. He also has interest in articulating and evaluating complex adaptive systems and understanding ways to facilitate implementation under complex conditions.
