Dr. O’Meara is a professor at Université de Montréal and practices cardiology at the Montreal Heart Institute. She completed a Fellowship in Heart Failure, and another in Stress Echocardiography and Tissue Doppler. She is a member of the Internal Review Board at the MHI and medical Chief of Outpatients Clinics at MHI; she is also a member of the Research Core Echo Laboratory at MHI, member of the teaching Committee at UdeM for Multisystem Diseases. She was Co-Chair of the Primary Panel for the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and Canadian Heart Failure Society (CCS and CHFS) HF Guidelines, and co-chair of the Cardiorenal Prevention Guidelines for the CCS/CHFS (2020-2022). She currently is co-director of the Myocardial Axis team for HF research at MHI. Her research focuses on remodeling and fibrosis in HF, including cardiac circulating and imaging biomarkers; as well as on comorbid conditions that contribute to HF, more specifically diabetes, CKD and anemia. She is involved in several large HF trials as a national lead investigator, a steering committee or an executive committe member.
