Dr. Linda Edwards is a Pediatric Intensivist and has been a pivotal figure at British Columbia Children's Hospital since 2017, where she serves as the ECLS Program Director. She also holds a position as Clinical Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia. Before her current role, Dr. Edwards was a Consultant Paediatric Intensivist at Birmingham Children's Hospital in the UK from 2006 to 2017, where, in 2008, she led the development of the ECLS Program. In 2014, under her leadership, the Birmingham ECLS Program was awarded the ELSO Center of Excellence Platinum Award.
With extensive training in pediatric critical care medicine and ECLS across the UK, Canada, and the USA, Dr. Edwards spearheaded a significant overhaul of the ECLS program at BC Children's Hospital. Her efforts focused on team education and patient safety, implementing processes that improved the quality of patient care. Her leadership led the program to earn the ELSO Center of Excellence Platinum Award in 2023, marking the first time a Canadian pediatric ECLS program received this prestigious recognition.
Dr. Edwards is deeply passionate about critical care medicine and is dedicated to teaching the next generation of healthcare professionals.
