Dr. Brian Clarke is a heart failure cardiologist in Vancouver BC. Dr. Clarke's clinical practice specialzes in cardio-oncology, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. He is the director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant program at UBC and also the program director for the fellowship program in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Clarke is involved in many areas of academic medicine. He led the development and served as Chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's Area of Focused Competence program in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation, past president of the Canadian Cardiac Transplant Network, primary panel member of the Canadian heart failure and heart transplant guidelines, international heart transplant guidelines, and senior advisor on matters of national organ transplant. His research interests include heart failure outcomes, processes of care, MCS and sensitization in heart transplantation.
