Dr. Edythe Tham completed her medical and pediatric training in Australia followed by Pediatric Cardiology training in the USA. She is currently a Professor in Pediatric Cardiology at the Stollery Children's Hospital, University of Alberta specializing in cardiac imaging - echocardiography and cardiac MRI. Her research interests are in novel imaging techniques to evaluate cardiac function in cardiomyopathies and single ventricles. She is the Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Residency program and the Cardiac MRI advanced imaging fellowship. She is also the founder of the Virtual Heart Connection, a Physician-led volunteer initiative that has organized Virtual Fontan heart day camps and annual Fontan Family Camps to connect Fontan children across Canada. She joined the Canadian Congenital Heart Alliance board of directors in 2022 and organized an online CHD children's choir to celebrate their 20th Anniversary this year. She aims to employ different methods to make education fun and interesting, and hopes that everyone will enjoy this interactive learning session.
