Nariman Sepehrvand is a medical doctor, who graduated from Urmia University of Medical Sciences, Iran, and is a graduate of the PhD program in Medicine (Cardiology) at the University of Alberta. He is currently an Internal Medicine Resident at the University of Calgary and a clinical researcher (Research associate) at the Canadian VIGOUR Centre and Department of Medicine, University of Alberta.
He has been highly engaged in clinical research with over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and numerous presentations at local, national and international conferences. His research interest has been primarily in the fields of cardiology and heart failure, encompassing a wide variety of methodologies including RCT design and implementation, epidemiological studies and big administrative data analyses, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
In addition to participating in clinical studies that have led to change in guideline recommendations in the acute care of patients with cardiovascular diseases, he has studied topics related to health services and policy including the burden of diseases, patterns of care, risk stratification and risk-guided management, and feasibility and clinical/cost impact of health system interventions, such as screening programs.
