Dr. Frederic Dallaire is a professor of pediatrics at the Université de Sherbrooke, a pediatric cardiologist at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke, and a clinician scientist at the Centre de Recherche du CHUS, in Sherbrooke, Canada. He is the head of research at the department of pediatrics, and the director of mother and child research at the Centre de recherche du CHUS. He holds a PhD in epidemiology and an MD from Laval University (Quebec City, Canada). He trained in pediatric cardiology at the Centre hospitalier Universitaire de Québec (Quebec City, Canada) and at the Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto, Canada).
Dr. Dallaire is committed to the identification of early markers of adverse events to enhance risk stratification of children born with congenital heart diseases. His main areas of research are: 1) the identification of early risk factors in children with repaired tetralogy of Fallot, 2) the assessment of the performance of prenatal congenital heart disease screening, and 3) the definition of pediatric reference values in echocardiography and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. He is the founder and scientific director of the Canadian Congenital and Pediatric Cardiology Research Network.
