Workshop Description: The Spotlight session will cover three main topics: 1) The current opportunities for Cardio-oncology training / education in Canadafor academic and community physicians and allied health practitioners; 2) The landscape of dedicated Cardio-oncology programs in Canada and how to build one in the community; and 3) Current Canadian clinical trials in Cardio-oncology with opportunity for academic and community program engagement. The session will be presented by experts in the fields of cardiology, oncology, and cardio-oncology.
The main objective of this session is to educate Canadian clinicians on the landscape of cardio-oncology in Canada with focus on (1) providing knowledge as to where to refer patients in academic and community settings for clinical care, (2) opportunities for trainees and practicing clinicians to obtain additional training to either start a career in cardio-oncology or to enhance their current practice, and (3) ongoing clinical trials driven by Canadian clinicians and how to contribute to the development of scientific knowledge from community and academic settings.
