Dr Andrew Czarnecki is is an interventional/structural cardiologist in the Schulich Heart Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre with a special interest in transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve interventions. He is the Medical Director of the TMV Program at Sunnybrook, one of the most experienced programs in Canada. He is actively involved in early development and investigation of new devices including performing first-in-man procedures. He is the Principal Investigator for a number of clinical trials with new devices. His research interests focus on the evaluation of outcomes after transcatheter interventions using population-based and registry data. He is a Clinician Investigator and Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr Czarnecki is also an Associate Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and an Adjunct Scientist at IC/ES (formerly known as the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences).
