Dr. Pascal Thériault Lauzier’s doctoral thesis focused on applications of compressed sensing and iterative reconstruction algorithms in cardiac CT. Specifically, he used advanced algorithms to minimize the dose of radiation imparted on patients during CT scans and to obtain better images of the moving heart. During medical school and residency, he designed FluoroCT, a lightweight CT analysis software for pre-procedural planning of structural heart interventions, such as transcatheter valve replacement or repair. He has been active in research on artificial intelligence in cardiac imaging. He developed algorithms that enable automated analysis of cardiac CT scans. He also created a large multi-institution dataset of chest radiographs in patients with cardiac implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers; he applied artificial intelligence methods to process and analyze this radiographic dataset. He has led the early software design and development of PACS AI solution. He recently co-founded Tomoverse Imaging, a software company aiming integrate artificial intelligence algorithms in the pre-procedural planning of structural heart interventions.
