Dr. Kuriya is a clinician investigator and assistant professor at the University of Toronto. Dr. Kuriya’s clinical expertise and research primarily focuses on outcomes of rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Kuriya is passionate about helping spread the word that conditions like RA are “whole body” illnesses and need to be studied and treated as such. Specifically, she is interested in the interaction of inflammation on mental health and cardiovascular disease. She has been studying these themes in Canadian observational cohorts and administrative databases. Since 2018, she has also helped spearhead the U of T CardioRheum program aimed at CVD prevention in inflammatory arthritis.
