Dr Lamarche trained in Cardiac Surgery followed by a dual fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and in Heart Failure Surgery. He also obtained a Master in biomedical science focusing on pulmonary hypertension after cardiopulmonary bypass. His main clinical interests are systems of critical perioperative care for high-risk patients, simulation in the critical care setting and mechanical cardiac support for heart failure. He is a founding member and President of the Canadian Cardiovascular Critical Care Society (CANCARE Society). He collaborated on more than 100 peer-reviewed publications on national and international projects.
