Dr. Nery is a staff Cardiac Electrophysiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
He completed his cardiology training in Brazil and relocated to Canada to complete his Cardiac Electrophysiology training at McMaster University. Before joining the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in 2008, he was a clinical scholar at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Dr. Nery’s major clinical interests include catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and management of cardiac sarcoidosis. He is actively involved in clinical research evaluating mapping and ablation strategies for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Dr. Nery is an active researcher who has received peer reviewed funding from the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
