Dr. Roxanne Kirsch, MD, MBE, FRCP(C), FAAP
Dr. Roxanne Kirsch joined the Hospital for Sick Children in 2016. She is staff in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, Division of Cardiac Critical Care, and a Bioethics Associate with the Department of Bioethics. She is additionally the Associate Chief for Equity, Diversity, Inclusiveness, Wellness and Faculty Development for Perioperative Services at Sick Kids.
Dr. Kirsch grew up in Saskatchewan and upon completion of training was faculty in cardiac ICU at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia prior to joining the Sick Kids team. She has completed a Masters degree in Biomedical Ethics at the University of Pennsylvania. Her academic work focuses on the ethical and social challenges of stopping advanced technologic therapies, end of life care, introduction of innovative therapies, and resource allocation and prioritization within the clinical sphere. Additionally, her work focuses on improving patient care delivery by increasing clinician facility with the ethical issues intendant to pediatric critical care and cardiology.
