Dr. Kristin Lyons, MDCM, FRCPC is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute at the University of Calgary. She is originally from Vancouver and completed her BSc in Biochemistry/Psychology at the University of British Columbia and medical school at McGill University in Montreal. She went on to complete her residencies in General Internal Medicine and Adult Cardiology at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Having gained an interest in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, Dr. Lyons moved to the United States to complete a fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure at the University of California, Los Angeles and then returned to Alberta for a fellowship in Echocardiography at the University of Calgary. In her current position at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute, she is a member of the Advanced Heart Failure group and has expertise in heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support and cardiac sarcoidosis. She is also currently on the primary panel for Canadian Cardiovascular Heart Failure Guidelines.
