Cardiac Surgery Resident

Dr. Takhliq Amir is a third-year Cardiac Surgery Resident at Dalhousie University. She previously completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) with a Global Health Specialization from McMaster University followed by her Doctor of Medicine degree at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine (McMaster University). She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Medical Research at Dalhousie University and is concurrently enrolled in the Clinician Investigator Program with a research focus on aortic disease, fully funded by the Nova Scotia Ministry of Health. She has been part of the CCC Trainee Program Planning Committee since 2021 - as a co-chair of multiple sessions at CCC 2021 and 2022, and as a Surgery Track Co-Lead for CCC 2023 and 2024. In the future, she hopes to work as a clinician-scientist to provide excellent cardiovascular care while advancing research in the field of cardiac surgery.
