Todd C. Villines, MD, FACC, FAHA, MSCCT is a Professor of Medicine and Vice-Chief of the Cardiology Division (Clinical Services) at the University of Virginia where he is a cardiologist and researcher with a focus in multimodality cardiovascular imaging and prevention. Dr. Villines is a Past-President of the Society of Cardiovascular CT, the immediate-past Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cardiovascular CT, and past-Chair of the American College of Cardiology Imaging Section and of the Federal Cardiology Section. Dr. Villines has published over 300 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 4 books (as primary editor) and 12 book chapters focused primarily on cardiovascular prevention and atherosclerosis imaging using cardiac computed tomography. Dr. Villines is also a former Colonel in the United States Army Medical Corps, where he served as the cardiology fellowship Program Director and the Consultant to the Army Surgeon General while at the Walter Reed National Medical Center. During his 20+ years of military service Dr. Villines deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star.
