Workshop Description: Aortic valve disease is ubiquitous and echocardiography plays a key role in diagnosis and planning intervention. This spotlight session is designed to review the updated echocardiographic approach to the assessment of aortic valve disease. We will explore a case-based discussion on the standard and emerging echocardiographic techniques and imaging pitfalls for patient with aortic stenosis and aortic regurgitation. Topics covered will include the integration of advanced imaging techniques and indications for multimodality imaging in aortic regurgitation, in addition to highlining imaging parameters in aortic stenosis that can guide clinical and intervention management. The session will be divided into 3 talks:
1) Aortic Valve Assessment and Echo
2) Integrating Advanced/Multimodal Imaging in Aortic Regurgitation-When and Why?
3) Pushing the Boundaries in Aortic Stenosis: Evolving Strategies in Patient Selection
Interactive and Engagement Activities Description: A minimum of 25% of this session will be dedicated to audience interaction and engagement. The audience will be asked to identify and interpret illustrative cases using the audience response system. After each session there will be 3-5 minutes for review of the audience responses to key questions. There will be 10 minutes at the end for open question and answer period.
